The Cascade, a performance touring SUP

The Cascade 14 touring/race board has been an outstanding performer as a fast touring board and as a race board. We have so much fun going to races with the Cascade and showing the SUP race community that hollow wood boards made in your garage can be competitive performers. Many paddlers unfamiliar with modern hollow wood board construction think wood boards are heavy. Our prototype Cascade, which we built at the 27” width, came in at under 30 pounds!

In order to accommodate the widest weight range of paddlers, we are now offering the Cascade in four widths: 25″, 27″, 30″, and 34″. All versions of the Cascade have the same clean rail profile and the same smooth rocker line. Each of the boards in the Cascade lineup is appropriate for different weight paddlers. Full kits available (continental US only)

Full kits include everything you need to complete your hollow wood paddleboard. 

  •       Frame kit cut from 4mm Okoume BS 1088 marine plywood
  •       Resin Research epoxy/fiberglass kit
  •       Paulownia strips – enough to cover entire board. Strips measure 1/4″ x 1 3/4″ x 96″
  •       Vent, leash and grip set

  • Printable plans for Clearwood Paddleboards include the PDF that has the full-scale templates for the board you’ve chosen, the assembly manual, and links to the tutorials. Printable plans are a good option if you live outside the United States and want to save on import tariffs. When you purchase printable plans from Clearwood Paddleboards you also get “anytime” technical support via phone or email if you have questions about the process.
